Dust in the Wind

Yeah, I'm on a...
Intergalactic-Space-Wide-Conflict-With-Laser-Swords-Smugglers
-And-Princesses kind of kick. Although, the generic stuff is okay, too, especially that of my own cognition. I'm particularly intrigued, though with the galaxy of Star Wars, four thousand years before the Fall of the Republic, and the Rise of the Empire. This period, as it has come to be known, is the Knights of the Old Republic (KotOR) era. This era was first spawned by the ingenious developers at Bioware game studios, and published by the Star Wars equivalent of Electronic Arts, LucasArts. The game was was awe inspiring: vast worlds, an epic plot, excellent music, battles that could have easily been a part of the movies, and essentially making your own Jedi to end all Jedi, led up to what has been hailed by millions of unadulterated Star Wars fans, and even objective, average gamers, as the greatest Star Wars game of all time. That was five years ago.

In the year that followed, a rushed development team at Obsidian entertainment, cranked out a wounded, but worthy sequel: Knights of the Old Republic: The Sith Lords. This game, though it had the potential to blow it's predecessor, the amazing KotOR, into the next galaxy, the time-strapped team had to make ends meet on schedule, instead of diligently allowing the team time to finish the game, LucasArts wanted the release to coincide with a DVD release, and forfeit KotOR II to mediocrity.

KotOR III is, theoretically, LucasArts' salvation. The company is no longer trusted by fans release finished, well thought out game nor to release anything the fans want. In short, KotOR III is the King Arthur of the Star Wars gaming galaxy - prone to come out of the heavens at any moment, and destroy the evil of bland titles that LucasArts failed to make shine. The rumors come up year, after year, after year. But alas, though hope has not faded, the more realistic gamers see the ominous loom - KotOR's days of glory are over. A new breed of game has come and gone, and the consoles it made it's mark on have faded into obscurity. Like Revan, it has gone into the Unknown Regions, feared never to return...

The color scheme/layout reminds me of Galactic Conquest. Ever played that? An old star wars game.

Nope. Haven't played it. I got the color scheme from a vast variety of places, but sadly, that isn't one of them...
